"Together Again"

MaryAnn (Carter) Schry of LaVale, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Born on March 18, 1938, in Eckhart, MD, she was the daughter of the late Madeline (Finn) and Charles Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Randolph "Randy" Schry II, who passed in December 2022.

She was also preceded in death by her brother Charles Carter Jr. and wife Marlene, and sister Shirley Schurg and husband Carl. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

MaryAnn's parents had both passed by the time she was 14 and she went to live with her aunt and uncle, Joseph (Tom) and Lucille Carter. She grew up with her cousin's, Joseph Jr., Nancy, July, and George, who were like siblings to her.

MaryAnn was a 1956 graduate of Beall High School and a 1959 graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at Memorial Hospital and as a homemaker caring for her four children.

She is survived by her four children, Mark A. Schry and wife Tammy, Alisa K. Schry, Diane L. Kothmann and husband Darryl, Brian C. Schry and wife Kelly; a brother-in-law Paul Schry and wife Virginia (Ginny), a sister-in-law Patricia Barco; and her 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

MaryAnn enjoyed bowling in multiple leagues and coached youth bowling for many years at the Bowler in LaVale. She was a longtime member of the LaVale Lionette's, enjoyed working the chicken barbeques, and had many close friendships over the years. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers in her yard, and cooking delicious meals for her family. She also loved visits and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

At MaryAnn's request, her body was donated to the Maryland State Anatomy Board, and there will be no services.
