Obituary

Maxine Helen Lona (James) Reall, of Pinto, MD, went to join her beloved husband, Lester V. Reall and son, Steven D. Reall, in her forever home, on August 2, 2021. Maxine was born on December 20, 1928 to the late Tina B. (Knotts) James and Antonio Petras Demetrius James. She is survived by her devoted children: daughter, Gail (Reall) and husband Vernon Isner; son, Mark Reall and wife Joyce (Mast) Reall; daughter, Ellen (Reall) and husband Byron Yoder; and daughter-in-law, Barbara (Souder) Reall, wife of the late Steven Reall; eight grandchildren and their spouses; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. Additionally, Maxine is survived by her dearly loved sisters, Leona (James) Brantner, and Excava (James) Pritts; brothers, Derfy James, Donald James and wife Juanita (Cesnick) James; and a very special sister-in-law, Darlene Abernathy, Akron, OH; as well as many supportive nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, son, grandson, Jason Reall, five brothers, an infant sister, and her dear sister, Beatrice (James) Muir. The loves of her life were her husband of 72 years; her family; her friends; her poetry; her art – she painted over 100 pictures; and the multitude of cats, birds, and other creatures that came to her doorstep. No one ever went away hungry. Maxine retired after 25 years of housekeeping service at Cresaptown School. She had a quiet strength and would sacrifice her own needs for family and friends. She was grateful for the many caregivers who helped her during the last two plus years spent at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehab, and the Shook Home in Chambersburg, PA. She also appreciated her neighbors and friends who supported her in her last days at home. A graveside service will be held at the Pinto Mennonite Church Cemetery, Pinto, MD, on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Duane Frederick and Rev. Vernon Isner officiating. A memorial luncheon will follow at the Pinto Mennonite Church. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ScarpelliFH.com
