Melba L. "Bugs" Lindner, 97, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2025.

Born July 31, 1927, in Homer City, PA, she was the daughter of Louis F. and Leonilda (Strini) Bagatti. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Philip E. Lindner; one sister, Denda P. Ugoletti; one brother, Joseph A. Bagatti, and one son-in-law Joseph Haywood.

She is survived by three daughters; Teresa Haywood, Denver CO; Barbara Morgan (Thomas) Frederick MD; Linda Martin (Darrell Chapman), Murrells Inlet SC; three sons Louis J. Lindner (Linda) Ridgeley WV; Philip E. Lindner (Royann Matthews, Significant Other) and Andrew J. Lindner, Cumberland MD.

She dearly loved and thoroughly enjoyed her eighteen grandchildren: Melanie Niland (Ryan); Kelly Harper (Danny); Sean Lindner (Christie); Brandon Lindner; Gregory Morgan (Samantha), Kimberly McDonald (Gavin); Brian Morgan (fiancée Kailey Boyd); Philip W. Lindner (Madison Zeman); Daniel S. Lindner; Christopher Haywood (Sarah); Stephanie Kelley (Raymond); Sarah Hoy (Brandon); Anthony Haywood; Elizabeth Redding (Mark); Katie Killion (Michael); Nina M. Martin; Nicole E. Perkins (Chris) and Andrew T. Lindner. She also has thirty-three great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Numerous friends of her children also called her Mom.

Also surviving are two dear sisters-in-law, Loretta "Boo" Lippold, Cumberland and Sr. Mary John Lindner, Emmitsburg MD.

Melba was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church and the Sodality of St. Patrick's Church. Her strong devotion to God, the Catholic Faith and the Sacred Heart of Jesus was very evident as she implored His help for those in need and her other intentions.

Not only was she a mother to her own children but also to all who entered her home. She was loving and supportive to everyone she met, always offering her guidance and counsel. She loved having family gatherings with hours spent around the dining room table, laden with food, sharing our joys, laughter and even our sorrows. She had a special place in her heart for those who were suffering. She was a compassionate listener and always emphasized the positive, seeing and bringing out the best in people. Her unique sense of humor and quick replies kept you on your toes. To know her was to love her!

Friends and family will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 5pm to 8pm. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at 7:30pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, 201 North Centre Street, Cumberland, at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Cumberland.

The family would like to thank Caryn L. Amedee, NP; the staff at Sandstone Primary Care, and Amanda Aguallo who allowed us to keep our Mom in her beloved home as long as possible.
