CRESAPTOWN – Merry Carol Niner, 84, of Cresaptown, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024.

Born December 24, 1939, in Rawlings, MD, she was a daughter of the late John McKinley Galliher and Bernadine (Kasecamp) Galliher. She was the last survivor of ten children. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Richard Niner; and all nine of her siblings, Leona, Gaylord, Buddy, John R., Ethel, Carrie, Nettie, Thomas, and Michael.

Merry graduated from Allegany High School with the Class of 1958. After working various jobs, she spent most of her life as a homemaker, but she later retired from BioSpherics after ten years. She was a member of the Cresaptown Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, as well as St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She was the most happy watching her sons play baseball and when her grandchildren would visit from Tennessee.

Merry leaves behind her sons, Richard Todd Niner (Kelly) and Jason Edward Niner; an adopted daughter, Sheri Alt Rotruck; three grandchildren, Waylon McKinley Niner, Winston McKlain Niner, and Eljah Dalton Niner; two step-grandchildren, Jeromiah Deul Heidle and Zachery Daniel Heidle; eight great-grandchildren; a whole host of nieces and nephews; her many neighbors and friends; and extended family.

In accordance with her wishes, her body will be cremated.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Thursday, August 29th, from 5:00 from to 7:00 p.m.. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m..

She will be interred with her husband at St. Ambrose Cemetery.
