Cumberland,MD- Mildred May (Jolley) Price, 91, of Cumberland, Md. went home to Jesus on January 9, 2017.Mildred was born June 26, 1925 in Cumberland. She was the daughter of Arthur R. Jolley and Sophia Bierman Jolley. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Price, sister, Audrey Jolley and brother Harold Jolley. Mildred was the last surviving member of her immediate family.Mildred was raised in Mexico Farms with lots of extended family. She was a member of Davis Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Allegany County Homemakers and The Order of the Eastern Star.Millie worked and volunteered at many different places throughout her life. Millie worked at the Community Super Market, McCroy's Department Store, and during the war she worked making bullets at the Kelly Tire Plant. Paul and Millie lived in Harrisburg, Shippensburg and Chambersburg Pennsylvania. There she worked at Sears Roebuck & Co.'s credit dept., as well as Shonnamens Sewing factory. After Paul died she came back to Cumberland and worked at the Celanese Fibers Co., The County Home, Eyerlys (BonTon) and Garretts Clothing Store before retiring. She volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital, and with the Allegany Extension Office of the University of Maryland.Millie enjoyed quilting, crocheting and cooking. Her quilts, doilies and recipes are treasured family heirlooms. She shared this love with her family and friends. She also traveled with friends to many places.Mildred is survived by her son, Patrick E. Price, Baltimore, Md.; her daughter, Pamela A Frye and husband Ronald; her grandchildren, Joseph P. Frye and his fianc Heidi Dull, Washington DC, and Angela L. Frye and her fianc Donald J. Grimley; her great-grandsons, William M. and Charles B. O'Boyle, and an expected great-granddaughter who she knew about and was looking forward to holding; a sister-in-law Mildred Jolley; and many nieces and nephews all from Cumberland.Scarpelli Funeral Home,PA is in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 1 pm, at Davis Memorial Cemetery, on Uhl Highway. Pastor Rob Pierson will be officiating.
