CUMBERLAND – N. Maureen Judy, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland. Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John J. "Bobby" and Josephine R. (Condon) Cavanaugh. Maureen was a graduate of Fort Hill High School. She was the switchboard operator at City Hall until she retired. She was a devoted Catholic, and was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish. Maureen had a very charitable and generous heart, and was an advocate for animals. She was a loving wife and mother, and family meant the world to her. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Judy; Kelli Judy and husband Matthew Palmer; sister, JoAnn Condon Cavanaugh; niece, Robyn Lyn Sulanowski; nephew, John Craig Sulanowski; close cousins, Suzanne Schuh Martindale, and Sharron Schuh Woolwine; as well as love and cherished extended family members and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 201 N Centre Street, Cumberland, on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 11 a.m. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Maryland State Veteran's Cemetery, Rocky Gap. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a special charity of the donor's choice.
