Nancy L. Hall, 84, of LaVale, passed away peacefully at Frostburg Rehab Center on her husband's birthday, Thursday, September 24, 2026, surrounded by family. Nancy's love for her husband, Gene, was so strong, she held on long enough to spend one more birthday with him.

Born May 8, 1942 in Wheeling, WV, she was the daughter of the late James and Audra Nesbitt. Nancy graduated from Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing in 1963 as a Registered Nurse and worked in the newborn nursery until becoming a stay at home mom to her two daughters.

Nancy is survived by her loving and incredibly devoted husband, Gene, who visited her everyday over the past three years while at Frostburg Rehab Center. They had recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 2nd. She was his whole world and he found joy and comfort in simply seeing her smile and holding her hand. Gene and Nancy truly enjoyed doing everything together. She was and always will be his #1.

Also surviving are daughters, Susan Defibaugh (Jayme Bradley) of LaVale and Julie (Dave) Brown of Frostburg; along with grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan, whom she adored. She also leaves behind a sister, Barbara Nesbitt, of Columbus, OH; and very special cousins, Connie Stead (Larry), of Sabraton, WV who set up Nancy and Gene on their first date; and Linda Reed (Tim), of Valley Grove, WV.

Per Nancy's wishes, she was cremated and there will be no formal funeral services.

lnurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.

Due to Nancy's passion for nursing, her wish was to help others achieve their nursing dreams. The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the many staff and residents at Frostburg Rehab Center who quickly became family. The care and compassion that was shown to Nancy, Gene and the rest of our family will never be forgotten. You all are truly angels that were meant to be in our lives.
