CUMBERLAND – Nedra Helena Ruckman, 85, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020, at UPMC Western Maryland. Born March 29, 1935, in Ridgeley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Irene Elizabeth (Valentine) Abe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Ruckman; son, Jonathan Ruckman; and siblings, Regina "Patsy" (Abe) Abbott, Ronald Abe, and Richard Abe. Nedra received her GED in Wichita, Kansas. She went on to earn an Associate's degree and license in Dental Assistant education in Wichita. She worked as a military dental assistant. Nedra was an avid animal lover, and especially liked dogs. She also enjoyed dancing. Nedra leaves behind her children, Deborah (Ruckman) Maruffi and William Ruckman; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Walter Abe, and Jeannetta (Abe) Lloyd.
