Norma Jean (Twigg) McDaniel, passed away at her home on August 31, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 25, 1937 in Fort Ashby, WV to the late, William Twigg and Anna Mae (Iser) Root. In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her brother, James Root.

Norma worked for 30 years as a waitress and bartender for Geatz's restaurant. She retired from Hill's Department Store. She was a woman of many talents; a beautician, a house cleaner, and a caregiver for the sick. Norma never met a stranger and made friends easily, she really was one of a kind.

Norma is survived by her loving husband, Lenny E. Bennett; daughters, Beverly Jean Marken and husband Michael, Barbara Keister Baldwin, and Stacy Green and husband Pone; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; dear brother, William Root; and too many friends to count.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD 21502. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm officiated by Pastor Seth Wharton.

Interment in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Points, WV.
