CUMBERLAND – Norma Elizabeth Minnigh, 97, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at home.

Born March 23, 1925, in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Daisy Belle (Rudy) and Walter Bryan Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Harry Minnigh; brothers, Vernon and Glenn Wilson; sister, Kathleen (Wilson) Carner; brothers-in-law, Robert Carner, James Rowan, Eugene Minnigh and wife, Esther, and Claude Minnigh; sister-in-law, Jeanette Smith; nephew, Keith Rowan; niece, Barbara Fair.

Norma was a 1943 graduate of Fort Hill High School. She worked for a time as a secretary for Potomac Edison and went on to help with the business she co-owned with her husband, Star Printing. She held many positions in Star Printing and assisted in any areas she was needed. She was Methodist by faith.

In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling and was an avid reader. She also loved flowers, but not as much as her grandchildren.

Norma leaves behind her son, G. Brian Minnigh and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Heather Lancaster and husband, Jared, and Kristi Minnigh; great-grandchildren, Jemma and Maverick Lancaster; sister, Frances (Wilson) Rowan; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of the compassionate caregivers and UPMC Western Maryland Hospice Services for the comfort they provided to Norma.

Friends and family will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 6 to 8pm.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 1pm with Pastor Charles Riggleman officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
