Patricia Clark Bendix passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Born August 3, 1935 in Baltimore, MD, Pat was the daughter of the late Calvin and Mildred Clark. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Warren C. Bendix, Sr.; son, Warren C. Bendix, Jr.; her sister, Audrey Sweiger; and her brother, George Clark.
She graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore in 1953. She married the love of her life (and her brother's best friend), the late Warren C Bendix Sr. on August 7, 1955. They lived in Glen Burnie, MD with their three boys until Warren transferred to Cumberland with the B&O railroad in 1965. They purchased their home in LaVale in 1966 and after initial reluctance to leave Baltimore, Pat declared "She would not want to live anywhere else!"
She started working as a secretary in the Allegany County School system at LaVale Elementary School with assignments at the Central Board Office, and Mount Royal Elementary. When "Old" LaVale closed, Pat became the secretary at the new Cash Valley Elementary and remained there until she retired in 1996. Pat was never a morning person, but she loved working with the elementary school children. Pat loved to play Bingo at LaVale and Bedford Fire Halls and loved her weekly card group that met at Lindy's Restaurant.
She is survived by her sons, Michael C. Bendix (Joy), Woodbine, MD, Douglas R. Bendix (Debra), Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Scott Bendix, Amanda Harrison (Tyler), and Kelly Gamber (Gavin); great-grandchildren, Thomas Gamber and Gavin Gamber; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Pat was fortunate to have wonderful neighbors who cared for her and became part of her family in Tony McCollough and Vince and Amy Pyle.
Pat and her family were appreciative of all of her friends who visited and called her to support her over these last few months particularly her dear friend Randi Agetstein who traveled weekly from Baltimore to visit her.
