Patricia "Pat" Rae Skidmore, 81, of Cumberland went home to be with her Lord and savior with her family by her side on Friday, May 19, 2023.

Pat was born in Cumberland on February 4, 1942 to the late Harold and Jessie Crawford.

Pat graduated from Allegany High School with the Class of 1960 and married her high school sweetheart in the same year. She was a loving mother and homemaker always. After her children were situated in school she went on to work at Friends Aware for 10 years and then on to HRDC from where she retired. Later came her grandchildren who she watched as much as they would allow her.

She loved being a Sunday School teacher and Awana member at Calvary Baptist Church. She was an avid reader, and read the Bible cover to cover at least ten times. Traveling with her family was her favorite hobby and she loved camping.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James C. Skidmore; daughters, Patricia Diane Edwards and husband Randy, Kathy Nelson of Indianapolis, and Linda Nestor and husband Kenny; grandchildren, James Killian, Steven Killian, Jessica Bittinger and husband Travis, Jay Nestor and wife Sierra, Erick Nestor; three great-grandchildren, Austin Bittinger, Jaidyn and Rylee Nestor; a brother, Steve Crawford and wife Shirley of Sugarland, Texas; and many great friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 23rd from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor David Hattenfield officiating.
