Patricia Gene Turley, 74, of Georgetown, Va., passed away peacefully at home Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022.

Patricia was born on Jan. 13, 1948, in Cumberland, to the late Harry and Colleen (Spooler) Ellis Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Hannah.

She graduated from West Virginia University and retired from Indian River School District.

She taught food services and sewing as a Home Economics teacher.

She enjoyed working with the children at school and was a member of the National Teacher's Organization.

She was 74 years young with the mindset of someone half that.

She was an avid collector of antique dolls and glass, especially Betsy McCall.

She would continue to wow other parents and doll collectors with her masterfully designed doll clothes.

She spent many crazy hours with her family crabbing and fishing at Cape Henlopen together.

She is survived by her husband, James Turley; daughter, Heather Minton-Turley (James); son, Dwayne Turley (Jodie); adopted daughter, Wendy Davis; and grandchildren, Christopher, Joey, Matthew Minton, Sadye, Maxwell, Jessica, Jacklyn, and Leilani.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park.

Friends and family are invited to a gathering at St. Mary's for an early dinner.
