Patricia Ann (Pendergast) Upole, 74, of Cumberland, MD passed away peacefully at home October 20, 2026.

She was born in Cumberland on May 15, 1952 to the late Patrick and Marion (Shaffer) Pendergast.

Patty graduated from Allegany High School, followed by Allegany College with an associate's degree in mental health and human services. Prior to completing her degree she worked as a pharmacist technician at Sacred Heart Hospital and LaVale Pharmacy. Patty had a career as an addictions counselor at the Thomas Finan Center's Jackson Unit.

She was an artist at heart and a very creative person. Loved painting, pottery, knitting, and keeping a garden and its fish pond. She was a lifelong Notre Dame Football fan. Loved traveling with her family on many day trips, as well as trips to Cedar Point and Notre Dame.

Surviving her is a son, Shawn Pendergast his wife Tiffany and their son Gabriel; her sister, Mary Blizzard; two brothers, Michael (Mary Ann) and Brian Pendergast (Crystal); nieces and nephews, Wendy, Matthew, Katherine, Patrick, Alyssa, Alexis, Ashlynn, and Sorin.

In accordance with her wishes she was cremated and family will be having a private service.

Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cumberland.
