It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Edwin Green on October 8, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on May 20, 1944, Paul lived a purpose-filled and productive life, filled with care, creativity, and kindness.

His adoring mother, Anna Grabenstein, and stepfather, Ed Grabenstein, preceded Paul in death.

Michael Hast, brother and friend, other siblings, and many life-long friends survive Paul, including Tim Connor, 104, a very special father figure in his life, and his long-time companion, Sandi Saville.

Paul was an entrepreneur, working in the field of commercial real estate and the restaurant industry. Paul maintained an active presence in the downtown Cumberland community, even in his later years. He forged strong and lasting friendships because of his career and civic interests. He took considerable pride in his renovation projects and other creative initiatives. Paul always considered the functional and aesthetic appeal in decision-making.

Paul owned several historic properties in the county. His friends have special memories of the Speak Easy and the historic Clarysville Inn. Paul lived in the former McKaig mansion, built in 1890. He enjoyed spending time with is friends at the local establishments where they frequented. Paul was a genuine person, a good listener, and charitable, and these positive qualities resonated with family members, friends, and colleagues.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cumberland. A service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Mike Hast officiating. Afterwards a luncheon will be held for all to share stories about Paul and his life.
