Oldtown, MD- Paula Marie Bible, 63, of Oldtown, passed away on May 3, 2023, at her home.

Born January 17, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Willie Marvin and Hester Frances (Peer) VanMeter. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Fleegle; her son, Mike Bible; and her brother, Marvin VanMeter.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard E. Bible; sister, Brenda Bishop (Dale); "baby" sister, Carol Shambaugh (Joe), all from Oldtown; one granddaughter, Miranda Bible, Cresaptown; many nieces and nephews who she enjoyed.

Paula graduated from Oldtown High School, class of 1978. She worked at the Allegany County School Board as a custodian. She loved her cats and birds. She enjoyed helping people and doing for others. She was very much a "people person." Back when she was well, she enjoyed her 1965 Mustang and going to car shows.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 8, 2023, from 5:00 until 8:00pm and Tuesday, May 9 from 11:00am-noon at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday at noon with Pastor Charles Riggleman officiating. Interment will follow at Oliver Grove Cemetery. Following the service, there will be a gathering at the Shambaugh's.

Paula wanted to make sure her obituary thanked all who took care of her, especially Dr. Zaman, who considered her family more than a patient.
