Warfordsburg, PA – Peggy A. Brown, 79, of Warfordsburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born on January 9, 1944, in Tell City, IN, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Golda (Knable) Arnold. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Arnold.

Peggy was a 1962 graduate of Allegany High School, Cumberland, MD. She worked as a correctional officer, and retired from the Queen Anne's County Jail in Maryland. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Marshall E. Brown, Sr.; children, Marsha Coy, Baltimore, Melissa Wilder, Hagerstown, and Marshall E. Brown, Jr., Needmore, PA; siblings, Rita Duckworth, Cumberland, Jesse Arnold, Ft. Ashby, WV, Rebecca Hanekamp, Binghamton NY, and Denny Arnold, Cumberland; 8 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated.

Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Sunday, February 12, 2023, from 11 a.m. to noon. A memorial service will immediately follow at noon with Pastor Betty Kennedy officiating.
