CUMBERLAND – Peggy Marie (Washington) Fleegle, 74, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Cumberland Healthcare Center.

Born July 6, 1950, in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Jane (Moore) Washington.

Peggy enjoyed spending her time at the HRDC Senior Center. She volunteered at the Salvation Army and was a bell ringer for many years. She had a unique personality, but she loved everyone and never knew a stranger. Also an animal lover, she cared deeply for her cats.

Peggy leaves behind her children, Scott Burnham and wife Violet, Paul McDermott and fiancée Elizabeth, Eugene Jones, and Karen Wells; grandchildren, Shelby, Grace, Riley, Caeleigh, Jaden, Rayna, and numerous others; and her beloved cats, Chuck E. Cheese, Nate, and Little Man.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
