Peggy Ann
Yetter
Jun 11, 1937 — Aug 29, 2023
CUMBERLAND – Peggy Ann Yetter, 86, passed away August 29, 2023, at Devlin Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born on June 11, 1937, to the late Josie and James Martin. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patty Linaburg; granddaughter, Stephanie Burkey; great-grandson, Austin Robertson; great-granddaughter, Keri Shreve; and son-in-law, Mike Lehman.
Peggy is survived by her loving and caring husband, Bill Yetter, A.K.A. "Hey Bill." They were married in Winchester on December 1, 1960 (63 years).
She was a wonderful mom to their five children, Wes Powell (Judy), Mary Jo Shreve (Jim), Debbie Burkey, Lisa Lehman (Bob Kolberg), and Kim Hershberger (Mike).
She cherished all of her grandchildren and was very proud of them – Becky Arnone, Brian Powell, Stephen, Kevin, and Scott Shreve, Jay Burkey, Chris and Colby Lehman, Laura Giffin, Cassie Robertson, Jenn and Josh Hershberger; step-grandchildren, Keith Sager and Chere Blacker. She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as two sisters, Ina Rae Shirey, and Betty Jo Burner; and one brother, Eddie Martin (Linda).
Some of Mom's favorite pastimes were playing bingo, patronizing yard sales, going on car rides with Dad, and playing cards with Eddie and Linda.
Her children and grandchildren will cherish many memories such as watching wrestling, playing pickup sticks and jacks, but most of all "Scanner Adventures" – her favorite.
Mom was well known for making the best potato and macaroni salads, cucumber salad, and homemade fudge and milkshakes.
Our family is deeply saddened by the loss of our mom but can find peace knowing that she is no longer in pain and has rejoined dearly missed family members.
We would also like to thank the third floor staff and activity director at Devlin Manor for the compassion and care they gave to our mom.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 11am to 12pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm with Rev. Harold McClay, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in MD State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap.
