Phillip Charles Weaver, 74, of Cumberland, MD passed away peacefully at home April 4, 2026.
He was born January 31, 1952 and was the son of the late Marcellus and Irene Weaver. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Marc John Weaver.
Phil graduated from Allegany High School in 1970. He then worked with PPG for eight years, followed by a 46-year career with the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory until his retirement.
Phil enjoyed watching the local athletes at all levels, recalling stats from games long past. An avid sports fan, he loved the Baltimore Orioles, Colts, and later Ravens. Johnny Unitas was his sports hero growing up. He also followed all University of Maryland men's and women's sports.
From a young age, he loved watching auto racing, and in his spare time, slot car racing. At the time of his passing, he had a sizable slot car collection, including several cartoon-related cars for his grandchildren to enjoy. Phil also enjoyed watching westerns, listening to classic rock music, and supporting small businesses.
Phil was very devoted to his family, and never ceased to mention how proud he was of his children and grandchildren. He was always there for his family any way needed. He was also an incredibly hard worker with no complaints. His work ethic was unsurpassed. Phil was also one of the friendliest people in any room, and had a terrific sense of humor. He was a man of integrity, patience, and compassion.
Phil is survived by his children, Jason Weaver, Rachel Weaver, and Nathan Weaver (fiancée Jessica Reid); grandchildren, Jasilynn, Cambria, Nataisha, Destiny, Shaolin, Aidan, Bane, Mystique, Odin, and Octavius; and several great-grandchildren.
In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated and there will be a private service at a later date.
