Phyllis Marie (Lydinger) Bowen, 83, of Ft. Pierce, FL, formerly of Frostburg, MD, passed away peacefully at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.Born on August 23, 1935 in Cumberland, MD she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Bertha Lydinger. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Miller "Goose" Bowen; sister, Rosemary Lydinger; and brothers, Edward and Robert Lydinger.Phyllis was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary's High School. After graduating, she worked at Rosebbaum's Department Store, the Columbia Gas Company, First Federal Savings and Loan, and was the Co-Owner of Martin's Dress Shop on Baltimore Avenue. She also was a realtor for Holzshu, Welch & Assoc. for some time, and in 1990, got a certificate in interior decorating.She was an avid reader, a lover of all animals, and loved to cook and entertain. She adored her family, and will be missed by many.She is survived by her daughters, Tawny Tapp and husband Chuck of Brentwood, TN, and Wendy Welch and finance' Ramin Ghesmati of Ridgeley, WV; stepchildren, Victoria Wiseman and husband Larry, and Robert Bowen of Frostburg, MD; three grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, and Carson Tapp of Brentwood, TN; sister, Judith Geary of Wiley Ford, WV; nephews, Michael and Joseph Lydinger of Pittsburgh, PA; step-grandchildren, Brittany (Bowen) Fleming and husband Kendal, Marisa (Bowen) Miller and husband Jason, Breanna (Bowen), and Jessie and husband Travis; several step-great grandchildren; and a great-nephew.A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 300 E Oldtown Road, Cumberland, MD 21502 on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 12 p.m. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
