Rhonda Lea (Hinkle) Ammons, 65, of Flintstone, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at home surrounded by family.

She was born May 6, 1959, in Cumberland. She was the daughter of Geraldine (Lloyd) and the late Edward M. Hinkle, who passed in 2005. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert James Ammons, Jr. on February 23, 1991.

Rhonda graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1977 and went to ACC to study nursing. Rhonda loved listening and singing to country and gospel music and was known for decorating her picture window for the holidays.

Rhonda married Robert in December of 1977 and had three children, Scott L. Ammons, Terri L. Ammons and fiancé, Fredy Garcia, and Timothy M. Ammons and fiancée, Rebecca Martin.

Rhonda had a very special man in her life, Jeffery L. Davis. They had been together since June 2007. He was with her through her stage 4 ovarian cancer battle and her chemo treatments. Jeffrey has two sons, Jeffery L. Davis, at home, and Kenneth A. Davis and wife, Kersondra, of Romney, WV.

In addition to her mother and three children, she is survived by her four brothers, her twin, Ricky L. Hinkle, of Nathalie, VA, Edward A. Hinkle, of Davenport, IA, Gerald W. Hinkle and wife, Terri, of Cumberland, MD, and Donald E. Hinkle, of Grantsville, MD; eight grandchildren, Kadin Ammons, of PA, Scott L. Ammons, of Cumberland, Madison N. Pfitzenmayer, of Cumberland, MD, Cory J. Pfitzenmayer, of Oldtown, MD, Autumn M. Ammons, of Cumberland, MD, Wyatt A. Davis, of Romney, WV, Bayden L. Davis, of Romney, WV, Mason R. Davis, of Romney, WV. Rhonda's grandchildren were the loves of her life.

She is also survived by nephews, Christopher Hinkle, Jeremy Hinkle and wife, Tara, Daniel Hinkle and wife, Rebecca, and Travis Hinkle; niece, Chyanna Crawford and husband, Clint.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 12 p.m. with Rhonda's brothers, Pastor Gerald Hinkle and Pastor Donald Hinkle, officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
