SHORT GAP, WV Robert "Bob" D. Adams, 79, of Short Gap, WV, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.Born August 19, 1937, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Morgan D. and Mary (Sisler) Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Jean Davis; and a son, James Morgan "Jimmy" Adams.Bob was a 1955 graduate of Fort Hill High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. He was employed at Westvaco until his retirement. He attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Short Gap.Bob leaves behind his wife, Mary "Peggy" (Railey) Adams; daughter, Dawn "Shelly" Kees and husband Donald, Sarasota, Florida; sons, Don Adams and wife Lynda, Iowa, and Brian Adams and wife GiGi, Hawaii; sister, Betty Ware, Florida; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Tuesday, January 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 1, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Scott Knowlton officiating.
