Robert "Bob" Edgar Engelbach, Sr., 86, of Cumberland, MD passed away February 15, 2025 at his home with his family.

Born August 1, 1938 in Cumberland to the late Robert Engelbach and Margaret Knick. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Robert "Bobby" Engelbach, Jr.; and a brother, Clarence Engelbach.

Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Melva (Richard) Engelbach; a daughter, Karen Brady and husband Chris; a son, Colin A. Engelbach and wife Tammy; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Engelbach; grandchildren, , Josh Engelbach, Mandi Skerbetz and husband Justin, Dustin Davis and wife Jodi and their children, Bob's great-grandchildren, Grayson, Elan, Eilia, and Kasher; siblings, Kenneth Engelbach and wife Teresa, Helen Gross, Jim Knick, and Cindy Woodling and husband Jeff; and a large extended family with numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob led an incredibly full life. He joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17 and, after 20 years of dedicated service, he retired as a Master Sergeant. He then fulfilled his dream of graduating college and obtaining an MBA at Frostburg State College. His career then continued with First Peoples Federal Credit Union where he worked for 20 years, retiring as a Vice President and CFO in 2000.

Bob kept busy with his many clubs, activities and hobbies. He was a member of the VVA Chapter 172, VFW Post 1411, American Legion Post 13, Cumberland ODC and Goodfellowship Club. He was an active member of the Masons, holding numerous positions within Queen City Lodge 131, Esoteric Lodge of Research, Grand Lodge of England, York Rite Mason and Scottish Rite Mason, and Ali Ghan Shrine Club, Desert Legion.

Fishing and hunting topped Bob's list of hobbies. He loved fishing and hunting at his camp as much as his many out of town/state/country hunting and fishing trips with family and friends.

Bob was a travel enthusiast. He looked forward to his many beach trips with his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Melva traveled extensively with trips to England and Mexico becoming annual destinations.

His favorite times were those he spent with his friends and family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lights in his eyes.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 23rd from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland. A masonic service by the Queen City Lodge No 131 will begin at 4:00 p.m..

A memorial service will be Monday, February 24th beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Knick officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Cumberland.

Military honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans Association of America Chapter 172 – Honor Guard.
