On November 27, 2021, Robert Edward "Bobbie" Jones, 76, of Cumberland went to be with the Lord. Born January 16, 1945, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Richard S. Jones and Helen E. (Blacklin) Jones. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Colleen Lisanti. He graduated from LaSalle High School in the class of 1964. He was employed by the Cumberland Times News for 37 years before retiring. He enjoyed going shopping, walking, listening to music, and talking to all of his dear friends. He had a special friend who was like a sister, Belinda Valentine. He enjoyed her dogs, Max, Maggie, Chichi and Mia. He was a member of St. Patrick's and St. Mary's Catholic Churches. Bobbie will be sadly missed and continuously loved by all of his downtown family and friends. Robert is survived by two brothers, Harold "Buddy" Jones and wife, Nancy, of Frederick, MD, and Frank Pirolozzi and friend, Eleanor, of Cumberland, MD; three sisters, Donna Femi, of PA, Joann Connor and husband, Bill, of NC, and Deborah Miller and husband, James, of Frostburg, MD; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend who was like a sister, Belinda Valentine. Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday December 2, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
