Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Allen Wachter, 69, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Devlin Manor Nursing Home.

Born August 8, 1955, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late George C. Wachter, Jr. and Dorothy Ann (Combs) Maclaughlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, with whom he resided, Irene Wachter; his uncle, Robert Wachter; and nephews, Joshua Hill and Jakob Walker.

Bobby attended Friends Aware. Red Hots were his favorite candy, and he rarely went a day without indulging. He was a Baltimore Orioles Fan, but enjoyed all sports. Bobby loved Fort Hill High School sports and was their biggest fan. GO BIG RED!

Bobby is survived by his stepmother and best friend, Sandy Wachter; sisters, Peggy Allen and husband, Bill, Carla Murphy and husband, Pat, and Cheryl Jones; stepsiblings, Roxanne and David; aunt, Gay Greenfield; cousins, Sonya and Serena; the Friends Aware Staff; special friends, Gary, Amy, and Jessie Stansberry, his Fort Hill Football buddy; as well as multiple nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6:00 p.m. with Chaplain Paul Demers officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
