CHARLOTTE HALL - Roberta Jane (Haskell) Jewell, 87, of Charlotte Hall, MD, formerly of Fort Ashby, WV, passed away Monday, October 12, 2026, at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.

Born June 14, 1939, in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Robert Jefferson Haskell and Alice Ruth (Cleveland) Haskell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Ronald Jewell; and son, Scott Carl Jewell.

Roberta was a 1957 graduate of Nunda High School in Nunda, New York. She then proudly served her country in the United States Air Force after graduation, where she met her husband Carl Jewel. She went on to work as a medical secretary at Sacred Heart Hospital.

In her free time, she enjoyed baking and reading.

Roberta leaves behind her brother, David B. Haskell of Nunda, NY; grandchildren, Derek, Alissa, Dana, and Amanda Jewell; 2 nieces; and great-nieces and nephew.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated.

Inurnment in Fort Ashby Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Roberta's name may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6667, PO Box 378, Fort Ashby, WV 26719.
