Ronald "Ron" Craig Brode, 68, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV with his loving daughter holding his hand.

Born August 16, 1956, in Cumberland, MD, he was a son of the late Gerald F. Brode and Alyce M. (Smith) Brode. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Nancy E. Hott, and brother Kenneth G. Brode. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Ron enjoyed spending time with his grandkids; cheering them on in their many sports activities, his dog Ellie, and keeping Maryland Lottery in business with his crossword scratch-offs. Ron was always joking and liked to make people laugh.

Ron is survived by his daughter Verronyca Grabenstein and husband Jeremy, with whom he resided, Cumberland; two grandchildren Jace Grabenstein and Makenzie Grabenstein who were the light of his life and ex-wife/friend Kathy Brode.

In accordance with his wishes, Ron's body was donated to medical science through the Anatomy Gifts Registry and will then be cremated.

Per his wishes no services will be held.
