Oldtown Ronald E. "Rusty" Hose, 74, of Oldtown, MD, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.Born in Oldtown, MD on April 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Marjorie (Slider) and Ned Russell Hose, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Wyatt C. Brown; sisters, Louise McMillan and Patricia Hose; and brother, Milford "Buck" Hose.Rusty was a graduate of Oldtown High School, class of 1963. He was employed for forty years in the Maintenance Department of the Allegany County Public Schools. He was a member of the Oldtown United Methodist Church, and the School House Kitchen Liars Club. For the past ten years, Rusty helped restore the Civil War Era home called the Washington House at Ridgedale Farms in Springfield, WV. Most of all, Rusty enjoyed spending time on Assateague Island on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. For over forty years, he would take his family camping on the island. In addition to enjoying camping, Rusty was a wood worker and wine maker.Rusty is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kate (Kennedy) Hose; children, Kristina L. Brown and husband Gregory, Oldtown, and Ronald S. Hose and wife Laura, Little Orleans, MD; grandchildren, Andrew Brown and wife Lacey, Oldtown, Alex Brown and wife Kaylynn, Oldtown, Jared I. Hose, Little Orleans, and Spencer C. Hose, Little Orleans; great-grandchildren, Jace Brown, Warren Brown, Owen Brown, and Hudson Brown; brother, Ned R. Hose, Jr. and wife Kathy, Oldtown; as well as several nieces and nephews. Rusty also leaves behind his dog, Tootsie, and cat, Zoe.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 6-8 P.M.
