Ronald G. "Mac" McDonald, 82, of Cumberland, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.Born on July 20, 1935, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Orlias and Eva McDonald. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, James McDonald; his sister, Linda Maiers; and son-in-law, Lewis Rummer, Jr.He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Roberta McDonald. He is also survived by four children, son, the Reverend Kenneth McDonald and wife Kim, daughters, Kathryn Rummer, Rhonda Durbin and husband Dale, and Mary Bible and husband Jason; grandchildren, Jennifer Phillips and husband James, Lewis Rummer and wife Kala, Brooke Gulvas, Bethany Whittington, Tyler Durbin, Jordan McDonald, Trent Durbin, Sarah Bible, and Emma Bible; four great-grandsons; and three step-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Merry Dean; and several nieces and nephews.Ronald served in the United States Coast Guard, was a fifty year member of the Queen City Masonic Lodge 131, and was an avid Fort Hill football fan who never missed a game with his family and good friend, James Stoops. Ronald was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Ronald loved and cultivated a beautiful rose garden in which he took great pride. He retired from the city of Cumberland as a water filtration operator.Ronald deeply loved and cared for his family, and will be greatly missed.Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.A funeral service will be conducted at Trinity United Methodist Church, 122 Grand Avenue, Cumberland, on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mary George officiating.
