Obituary

Ronald Allen Robinette, 84, of LaVale, MD, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at his home in Magnolia, DE.

Born August 26, 1940 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late William Robinette and Leona (Reed) Phillips. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Doris (Crites) Robinette.

Ron graduated from Fort Hill High School with the class of 1958, and later obtained his associates degree in accounting. He served his country with the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he went on to a 36 year career in the finance division of Kelly Springfield Tire Company. In retirement he worked for 5 years with the family business, Crites Transfer.

He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and belonged to the Good Samaritans group. He enjoyed traveling abroad with his wife and friends, and spending the winter months in Myrtle Beach, SC. Golfing and reading were his favorite past times.

Ron is survived by his daughters, Terry S. Mullaney and husband Tom of Camden, DE and Sherry L. Hosfelt and husband Jim of Dover, DE; four grandchildren, Meghan (Mullaney) Vestal (Ben), Jenna (Hosfelt) Nevadunsky (Albert), Jacob Hosfelt (Michelle), and Lauren (Mullaney) Simpson (Ethan); five great-grandchildren; siblings, Stephen Phillips, Lyle Robinette (Cindy), Michelle Lyons (Gaylon), and Renee Gilmore (Bill).

Family and friends will be received Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 930 Frederick St, Cumberland. A funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Interment will be with his wife at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.

Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 13 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 930 Frederick Street, Cumberland, MD 21502 or to the Interfaith Pantry, 301 Cumberland Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
