Rosemary (Brown) Caldwell, 86, of Cresaptown, MD, passed away on August 13, 2026 at the Lions Center in Cumberland, MD. She was born on October 11, 1939 in Cumberland, MD to the late Joseph Milton and Rose Agnes (VanMeter) Brown. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis W. Caldwell; dear son, Donald T. Helmstetter; and siblings, M. Patricia Winter and husband Louis, Catherine Smith, Richard Brown and Robert Brown and his wife, Alma; niece, Sherry Rose Brown; and nephews, Tyler Brown, Robin Brown and Michael Winter.

Rosemary graduated from Allegany High School, Class of 1959 and worked many years as an instructional assistant for the Allegany County Board of Education. She enjoyed camping with Lou, bowling, travel with friends, shopping, growing flowers and she loved her puppies. It also brought her joy to attend Shriner activities with Lou.

Rosemary is survived by her brother Steven Brown and his wife, Gail of South Mountain, PA; stepson, Roger Caldwell and his wife, Sharon of Moncks Corner, SC; step granddaughters, Michelle Weil and her husband, Brandon of Summerville, SC and Nicole Todd and her husband, Reuben, of Greenwich, NY; and several step greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 15205 McMullen Highway SW, Cresaptown, MD 21502. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jim Jeffries officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
