RAWLINGS – Sandra K. (Zirkle) Lease, 73, of Rawlings, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born in Orkney Springs, VA, on April 15, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Beverly I. and Margaret Zirkle. Sandra graduated from Wheaton High School in Montgomery County, MD, in 1965, and went on to graduate from Frostburg State University in 1969. She taught in the Allegany County Public School System for 30 years, including the third and fourth grades at Mount Royal School and Bel Air Elementary. Sandra was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Mountains Parish. Sandra was a Sultana of Wamba 89 Order of the Alhambra. In 1969, she married Russell E. Lease and was with him for over 50 years. Sandra enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, vacationing, and travel. She made life worth living. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Timothy Zirkle and wife, Sharon; nephew, Timothy Zirkle; niece, Candace Mellott and Troy, and their children, Nicholas and Madison. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Monday, November 9, 2020, from 5 to 7 p.m. The Alhambra will conduct their crescent service on Monday at 6:45 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted on Monday at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cumberland, on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Lease Cemetery, Brant Road, Cumberland.
