WILEY FORD, WV – Sharon Hope (Lambert) Sijtsma, 72, of Wiley Ford, WV, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at home.

Born October 14, 1950, in Huntington, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Barker) Lambert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Sijtsma; and her brother, Ivan Lambert.

Sharon was a graduate of Barboursville High School in Barboursville, WV. She went on to work as a buyer for Stone and Thomas Department Store for 14 years. This position allowed her to travel, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Eventually, she retired from her supervisor position at Xerox in Frostburg.

When she wasn't working, Sharon loved to garden. She also looked forward to her Tuesday breakfasts with her friends. In years past, Sharon traveled the world, attended the theater, and had many other adventures with her best friend of at least 15 years, Carol Eiselstein.

Sharon leaves behind her loving husband, John Sijtsma; and three grandsons, Nicolas, Sean, and John Sijtsma.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be interred privately in Pete Meadows Cemetery in Glenwood, WV. There will be no formal funeral services.
