OLDTOWN -- Shelvie Jean Blank, 80, of Oldtown, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, January 26, 2017, at home with her loving family by her side.Born October 29, 1936, in Hancock, MD, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Sheppard) and Emmett Stotler. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Blank; son, Gary Lee Whorton; granddaughter, Tracie Jean Werner; four brothers; and two sisters.Shelvie was a homemaker and a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. She was an avid bird watcher and a lifetime member of The Goodfellowship Club. Shelvie loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a shuffle board member and enjoyed playing bingo and Sudoku. Shelvie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.She is survived by her sister, Doris Wallizer and husband Donald; son, Richard Whorton; daughters, Ellen Unger and husband Dennis, and Karen McMillan; son, Edward Whorton and wife Sheila, all of Flintstone, MD; daughter, Susan Flanagan and significant other David; daughter, Regina Whorton, of Cumberland, MD; 23 grandchildren, Shelvie Hess, Kenny Werner, Warren Flanagan, Amy Willison, Nathan Bennett, Carrie Humberson, Richard Flanagan, Denise Weller, Stefanie Werry, Charles McMillan, Denny Unger, Dena Unger, Eric Plummer, Gary Whorton, Rachel Whorton, Helen Ridenour, Carl Horseman, Chris Horseman, Susie Horseman, Jennifer Sowers, Herman Sowers, Raymond Sowers, Lewis Sowers; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.Friends and family will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday, January 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service, officiated by Rev.
