CUMBERLAND – Shirley J. (Redman) Carnes, 84, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born March 5, 1939, in WV, she was a daughter of the late John and Viola (George) Redman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Carnes; daughters, Vickie (John) and Kellie; sisters, Grace, Sit, Carol, and May; brothers, Bunk, Jack, Bob, Dick.

Shirley was a lifelong member of the Goodfellowship Club. She worked as a packer at Carr-Lowery Glass in Baltimore, and she absolutely loved playing Bingo.

Shirley leaves behind her children, John "Alpo", Tammy, Monk (Annette); grandchildren, Joey (Danielle), Danny (Joni), Chrissy (Lance), Frank, Brenda, and Avery; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Alexis, Gabby, Brandon, Achilles, Caden, Nolan, Mya, Avery, and Lucas; sister, Helen; nephews and niece, Bobby, Donny, and Shelly; and lifelong friends, Margie, Gloria, Donna, Kay, and Dainese.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 11am to 1pm.

A funeral service will immediately follow at 1pm with Pastor Charles Riggleman officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
