Her husband worked for the B & O Railroad. In 1960, the railroad work took him to Baltimore and mom became a wonderful seamstress, making hundreds and hundreds of majorette uniforms.

They built a log cabin and resided there until 2001 to move back east where they made their home in Berkeley Springs, WV to be closer to family.
Shirley enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, playing the piano and spending time with her family. She loved having bible studies at different houses with her friends. She also loved her church, Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, where she attended regularly.
She is survived by daughter Theresa Zikis and husband John, Hamden, Connecticut; daughter Vanessa Clark, Salisbury, Maryland; son Richard Morrison and wife Angela, Baltimore, Maryland; son-in-law, Vincent Fertitta, Sr, Hagerstown, Maryland; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; as well as many nieces and nephews.
