Stanley Edward Teets, 87, of Cumberland went to be with the Lord at UPMC Western Maryland on May 31, 2023.

He was born December 9, 1935 in Cumberland to the late Chancey and Georgia Teets. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his siblings, William Teets, Donald Teets, and Shirley Perez; an infant grand-daughter, Megan; and his best friend, Dave "Hoppy" Hamilton.

Stanley was a graduate from Fort Hill High School in the Class of 1954; where he excelled in sports with the football team and with track and field. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army, and was deployed for a time in Okinawa, Japan. Later he worked as a foreman with B&O Railroad/Chessie System. He was a member of the Fort Hill F Club, Masonic Masons, and Shrine Club. He loved his morning coffee with his friends, bowling, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Margaret E. (Plummer) Teets; daughters, Terri Bulger and Pamela K. Teets; Daniel E. Teets and wife Crystal; grand-children, Kristi Lovins and husband Josh, Cody Bulger, Jessi Bulger, Cole Teets, Addie Hamilton, Brandi Gochenauer; and a great grandchild on the way, Theo Lovins; a great friend, John Hamilton; and his poodle, Chloe.

Visitation will be Monday, June 5th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6 p.m. with honors accorded by the American Legion Post 13 Honor Guard and then with Pastor Wes Beahm officiating.

Cremation will then take place and his urn will be placed in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone, MD.
