Stephen D. Callis, 67 of Cumberland, reunited with his beloved mother, father, sister and brother in heaven on March 21, 2023.

Steve is survived by his wife of 27 years Amy, son Travis (Jodi), his two stepsons Frank and Lenny Bridges and stepdaughter Beth (Jason). As well as his sisters, Sgt. Sue Metz (Big Doug), Carolyn Metz (Lou) and Nancy Goss. Steve's pride and joy were his beloved grandchildren Olli, James, Connor, Ethan, Ben, and Everett. He also loved and cared deeply for his nieces and nephews. Thank you to Steve's lifelong buddies who chatted his ear off, not letting him get a word in edgewise (his words not mine) Randy, Pat and Mike.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother Francis LeeAnn Callis, his father Charles D. Callis as well as his sister Mary Lee Callis and brother Daniel Callis.

Steve served our country in the United States Navy from 1976-1980 as a Radioman 3 aboard the U.S.S. Patterson. Steve was an avid Maryland Terrapins fan, Ravens fan as well as a lifelong Orioles fan and we can't leave out his love for the salty waves. Steve was loved deeply by his family and close friends, inspiring a loyalty that is a true testament to the man he became.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Aaron Keech officiating. Interment will be in MD State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap. Military honors will be accorded by Ft. Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
