Steven Eugene Boone, of Wilmington Delaware, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 at his home.

Born May 17, 1954, in Washington DC, he was the son of the late G. Eugene Boone and Eva (Leighty Boone) Jones. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Raymond Boone.

Surviving are one sister, Melissa (Boone) Lopez and husband James; brother, Gary Boone and wife Andrea; brother, Christopher Boone; and step-mother, Ginger Boone. He was the uncle of Brittany Lopez Taylor, Ashley Lopez Amoroso and husband Steven, Jared Lopez and wife Missy, and David Boone. Steve was also great uncle to 5 nieces.

Steve graduated from Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, MD and attended Western Maryland studying political science. He worked in Baltimore at various restaurants, then began a career in medical billing and scheduling.

Steve loved life, his family, genealogy, reading, traveling, wine-tasting, gardening and political discussion.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11am – 12pm; with the memorial service following at 12pm with Pastor Derek Solberg officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park immediately following the service.
