Steven G. Hess, 50, of Cumberland, passed away on December 16, 2020, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Steve was born on September 9, 1969, in Cumberland, MD. He attended Fort Hill High School where he was a member of the football team. Steve also took several classes at Frostburg State University in the criminal justice program. Steve worked at Biederlack of America for 17 years. He then was a security officer for a privately-owned company near ABL. Most recently, Steve worked at Rocky Gap Casino Resort in surveillance and security. Steve's hobbies included refereeing Little League Football for many years, playing softball for several local teams, and golfing. Steve is survived by his granddaughter, Naomie E. Stahlman; and his ex-wife, Carol (Hess) Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deidre N. Hess; and his parents, Gene and Janet Hess. Per Steve's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral service.
