Obituary

Steven Russell Liller, 75, of Short Gap, WV passed peacefully at home on February 18, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 14, 1949 in Cumberland, MD. He was the son of the late Charles and Lila Liller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, sister Constance "Connie" Lark and brother in law James, brothers Larry Liller and Dennis "Denny" Liller and son in law, Paul "Jay" Dolly.

Surviving is his wife, Kimberly Hershberger, and his children: Katrina Dolly, Lori Louder and, husband Richard; John Liller and wife Susie, Stephanie Lantz and husband Ronnie, Robert Hershberger and wife Kimber, Kenneth Hershberger, Laura Scott and husband Garrett; his grandchildren Rebecca Hixenbaugh and husband Jeff, Grant Speigle, Garrett Dolly and wife Sierra, Austin Speigle, Seth Lantz and wife Megan, Cody Liller and wife Olympia, Victoria Lantz and Zander Taylor, Evan Lantz and wife Ally, Payton Liller and fiancé Nathan Ortt, Hannah Hershberger, Natalie Hershberger, Sawyer Hershberger, Caleb Louder, Namie Louder; and his two great grandchildren: Dutcher Hixenbaugh and Ainsley Taylor. His sister Darlene Steward and husband Johnnie. Sisters'-in-law Pat "Liller" Wilt and Debbie Liller. First wife and mother of his children, Marylan Liller. Along with a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Steve was a graduate of Fort Ashby High School. Following graduation he began working at his family's asphalt business, Liller Brothers Asphalt. Steve had a passion for farming and raised beef cattle on his farm at Seymour Bottom. Steve enjoyed spending time at auction sales, collecting numerous original John Deere tractors, and spending time with his beloved companion, his fur baby Muffy. He was a devoted member of Wesley Chapel and enjoyed giving back to the community with many contributions to various churches, local charities and businesses.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 15205 McMullen Hwy, SW, Cresaptown, MD from 1:00pm-3:00pm and 5:00pm-7:00pm.

The funeral service will take place on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 1:00pm at Wesley Chapel, 128 Wesley Chapel Rd, Ridgeley, WV with Pastor Scott Knowlton and Pastor Phil Matthews officiating. Friends may come to the church one hour prior to the service for visitation with the family.

Interment will be at Pinto Mennonite Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Graceland Baptist Church,

Building Fund, 5121 Frankfort Hwy, Ridgeley, WV 26753.
