Susan Marie
Dwyer
Jul 21, 1965 — Nov 15, 2023
Susan Marie Dwyer (Heidelberg), 58, originally of Livonia, MI and currently of Ridgeley, WV, passed away on November 15, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, following an unexpected intracranial hemorrhage.
Susan is preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Heidelberg, whom she lost too young and missed dearly. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Dr. George "Mike" Dwyer; son Michael Dwyer and wife Katlyn; daughter Katherine Malagaveli and husband Rohan; son Matthew Dwyer and significant other Ella Squires; siblings Don Heidelberg (Ashleigh), Jeff Heidelberg (Lori), Beth Chapman (Dale), and Michael Heidelberg; an extensive list of nieces and nephews; and her first grandchild whom she took every opportunity to spoil, Liam Dwyer.
Susan loved cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family at Deep Creek Lake, MD. She was able to find a friend anywhere life took her, often taking the time to connect with strangers or to chat with anyone who crossed her path. Caring for her family and friends was her utmost priority and was indicative of her selfless nature and love for those around her. Additionally, though she may not readily admit it, she cared deeply for the family dogs, ensuring that even they had gifts under the tree at
Christmas and leftovers at every meal.
Susan was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Cumberland, where she frequently volunteered in the charity clothing room.
Though Susan certainly left us too soon, we find solace in knowing that her final moments were peaceful and spent surrounded by family. Additionally, we express our gratitude for the outpouring of support from family, friends, and the community at large.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Anthony's Food Pantry, 300 E Oldtown Rd., Cumberland, MD 21502.
