Ridgeley, WV - Tammy Marie (Wine) Corwell, 61, of Ridgeley, WV passed away Saturday, August 19th, 2023 at UPMC Western Maryland surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer that she fought to the very end.

Tammy was born August 17th, 1962 in Clarksburg, WV to the late Oral Blaine "O.B." Wine and the late Roberta Ruth (Kittle) Wine. She was also proceeded in death by her brother Ricky Blaine Wine, and her beloved father-in-law and mother-in-law Donald Lee Corwell, Sr and Catherine Eloise (Brookman) Corwell.

Tammy is survived by her husband of 41 years whom she fondly called her "Honeyman" Donald Lee Corwell, Jr.; son Trey Corwell and wife Sabrina of Clay, WV; daughter Brittnee Arnold and husband James of Ridgeley; five grandchildren who were her whole world, Kenzie Corwell, Summer Corwell, Angel Arnold, Halo Arnold and Silas Corwell; her in-laws Peggy Garver and husband Faron, Becky Boyd, Paul Corwell and wife Sharon, Mark Corwell and wife Karen; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Tammy also leaves behind her fur baby Clay who she swore they rescued each other during her battle with cancer.

Tammy may have been born in Clarksburg, but she moved with her family at a young age to Burkburnett, TX to follow her father's job where she accumulated many friends along the way and a love for Texas and George Strait, until the job landed her in Ridgeley where she met her Honeyman. Over the years since, she had worked at Precise Metals & Plastics of Cumberland, MD, Hagenbuch's Restaurant, Old Furnace Restaurant, Ridgeley American Legion Post 136, Cumberland Moose Lodge 271 and Ridgeley VFW Post 6452. She was also an avid member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club Ladies Auxiliary where she loved to attend any social event and enjoyed her Jackpot Tuesdays and Shuffleboard Sundays. More importantly she loved to camp and spend her summers living along the South Branch River in Springfield, WV at her family's camp referred to as the Corwell Compound with her husband and her "Family" from Camp Tuck & Roll.

Tammy was a lover of all and never met a stranger, deeming her often teased by her children with the nickname Miss America anywhere they'd go. Those who knew Tammy, knew love even if they only met her in passing as she danced and sang her way through life just to bring them a smile. She cared about everyone and had an empathy beyond anything that most can imagine. During her early fight with cancer as she was going through her treatments, she hated to see those who had to decide between a cancer treatment or a house payment, so she recruited help to organize her vision of a benefit called the Redneck Float that ultimately raised over $120,000 in 7 years for the WMHS Cancer Patient Relief Fund. Even in her time of death she is set to help others as she has had her body donated to the WV Anatomical Board for research to hopefully save another life one day. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date once arrangements can be made.

In lieu of flowers, per the family's request, please submit a donation in Tammy's name to UPMC Western Maryland's Cancer Center, 12500 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD 21502, to the Cancer Patient Relief Fund so that her legacy of helping others may continue.
