Terry Paulette (Gates) Footen, 73, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at UPMC – Western Maryland.

Born August 4, 1951, in Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dean W. and Adelaide C. (McConnell) Gates.

Mrs. Footen was a 1979 graduate of Altoona Area High School. She was an OR nurse, at Sacred Heart Hospital where she retired after 36 years.

Mrs. Footen was a member of the Association of Surgical Technologist, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Choir and Contemporary Music Group, a Youth Minister, Lector, Eucharistic Minister and worked in the coffee shop at the Church.

She is survived by her husband, James P. Footen; daughters, Kathryn J. Runk (Morgan); son-in-law, Chris Morgan, Elizabeth A. Footen; grandchildren, Jerica B. Runk, Alexis S. Morgan, Amber Gibner, Haliey Gibner; great-grandchildren, Isaha Barnes, Natalie Barnes, Amya Barnes, Khi'Heem Cole-Weedon, and a future grandchild from Alexis Morgan; her lifetime bestie, "Cookie" Kowalski and her good friends, Donna Lehman and Janie Karr.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Christian Wake will be held during the later visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 300 E. Oldtown Road, Cumberland, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
