LAVALE – Terry "Jim" Tressler, 78, of LaVale, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023, at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born November 4, 1945, in Garrett, PA, he was the son of the late John W. Tressler and Mary Ruth (Patton) Tressler Patterson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Gail (Jackson) Tressler; and his only son, John Jason Tressler.

Terry served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled Veterans (D.A.V.) Chapter 127 in Berlin, PA, as well as of the VFW Post 8826 in Salisbury, PA. He attended Calvary Bible Church in Ellerslie, MD.

Terry is survived by his sister, Judy D. Harvey, New Park, PA; niece, Terri (Rick) Marsteller, New Park, PA; nephew, Douglas (Steph) Shaulis, Somerset, PA; fiancée, Brenda Morgan, Frostburg, MD.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 2 to 4pm and from 6 to 8pm.

A funeral service will be conducted at Calvary Bible Church, 13901 S Gardner St, Ellerslie, MD, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 11am. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in MD State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, Flintstone, MD.

Military honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 172, Honor Guard.
