Goshen, IN Theodore M. Klopfenstein, 92, died Sun., Dec. 9, at Greencroft Healthcare.He was born Nov. 23, 1926 to James G. & Mabel (Eicher) Klopfenstein in Duel County, Nebraska.On May 15, 1948 he married Florence B. Helmick in Pinto, Maryland. She died July 28, 1995.Survivors include two sons, Howard (Judith) Klopfenstein, Lafayette and David Klopfenstein, West Lafayette; a daughter, Debra (Ron) Daw, Santa Ana, California; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Keith (JoAnn) Klopfenstein, Elkhart.Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.An area resident since 1952, Mr. Klopfenstein was member of Prairie Street Mennonite Church, Elkhart. He worked as a truck driver for area dairy farms, Deans Inc., and Archway Cookies. He was a gifted horseshoe farrier for more than 40 years. He participated in A.E.R.C. (American Endurance Ride Conference) cross country horse racing, completing 7000 miles.Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 13, from 2 p.m. until the 4 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.Burial will take place at Pinto Mennonite Church Cemetery, Cumberland, Maryland. A graveside service will be conducted at the cemetery on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at 2 pm. Pastor Duane Frederick will officiate.
