Theresa Kay Black, 75, of Cumberland passed away at her home on February 9, 2025.

Born on September 30, 1949, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Bernadine Robertson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Carl C. Black; and a sister-in-law, Karen Robertson.

Theresa had several careers, and worked as a proofreader for Hobby House Press, she cooked desserts at the Frostburg Nursing Home, and was in the antique business with her husband.

She enjoyed watching Home and Garden TV, spending time with her dog, Cargie, and cat, Goofy, and going to lunch with Debbie.

Surviving is her daughter, Carla Black and her partner Tim Patz; two brothers, Michael Robertson and Patrick Robertson (Katie); nephews, Adam Robertson (Cassie), Matthew Robertson (Jennifer), and Bryan Robertson; stepdaughter, Natalie Wartzack, and her children Maisie, Joseph, Emma, and Jayden; stepson, Carl Wartzack (Melanie), and his children Thomas, Noah, and Luke; sisters-in-law, Darlene Park (William) and their son William Jr., and Kathy Black; and her extended family including many grandnieces and nephew.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland. A funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Fr. Mark Carter, OFM Cap. officiating.

Burial will be with her husband at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone, MD.
