Thomas Clarence Hare, 79, of Cumberland, MD went to be with the Lord October 26, 2024 while on hospice at Devlin Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland.

Tom was born March 22, 1945 in Cumberland to the lateThomas T. and Edith Hare. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his cousin who was like a brother, John Henderson.

He graduated from Fort Hill High School where he played football with the class of 1963. After graduating he worked for Black & Decker; before working as a Nursing Assistant for 29 years at Allegany County Nursing Home where he retired. In addition to being a huge Fort Hill Football fan, he loved traveling out of town to flee markets and seeing the Cramer Brothers Band.

Tom was all about caring for other people, especially his family and friends, he had an enormous heart and worked hard to share it.

Surviving is his best friend and companion of 30 years Marlene Virginia Cramer; step-daughters, Mary Libby Friend and Tonya Sue Keeney; Marlene's children, Julie Noel and husband Jeff, Gary Cramer and wife Tonya, Dean Cramer and wife Sherry, Cheri Helmstetter and husband DeWayne, Craig Cramer and wife Adrienne; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a very large extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 2nd from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Seth Wharton officiating.

Burial will follow at Zion Memorial Park, Cumberland, MD.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for the care he received while on hospice with UPMC Western Maryland.
