Valerie Lynn Cole, 68, of Cumberland, MD passed away at her home November 5, 2025.

She was born in Cumberland on October 14, 1957 to the late Jack and Charlotte (Miller) Abe.

Valerie graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1975, and then went on to Allegany College where she received a finance degree and later a nursing degree. She loved taking care of people and her last job was as a nurse for UPMC Western Maryland Homecare.

She enjoyed vacationing in Virginia Beach, and was a fan of Fort Hill Football and the Baltimore Ravens. Valerie was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Cumberland.

Surviving is her husband David Cole Sr; daughters, Miranda Sponaugle and husband Matthew, and Melissa Lohr; grandchildren, David Cole III and wife Elizabeth, Madison Sponaugle, Colby Sponaugle, Orion Lohr, and Mira Lukas; two great-granddaughters, Josie Cole and Lainey Cole; her brother, Bryan Abe and wife Theresa; a niece, Harleigh Hidey and husband Robbie; a special cousin, Kathy Dolly; her large extended family and many friends; and her dog, Ringo.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services.
